A great big shout to My God and King for leading me into financial freedom. Through Dave Ramsey's book Total Money Makeover, and putting the principles to work...today, November 11, 2009 I paid off last of my debt - the last credit card balance! Wow, I can't tell you how that feels any other way than .....FINANCIAL PEACE.
My journey started about three years ago when after hearing Dave on the radio I cut up my credit cards. That was working to a small degree, then I purchased Dave's book in November of 2007 when he had a $10 Thanksgiving sale. I became more diligent. Daniel and Jennifer took Financial Peace University in January 2008. In August of 2008, Jennifer became my accountability partner, helping me with my monthly written budget. These were the keys that really set me to exceling in debt destruction; being accountable to her and writing out a budget. Seeing the debt snowball working increased my desire to stay on course. Now I'm on to baby step three....with excitement!
Thank you Dave for sharing these workable principles, and thank you Lord Jesus for helping me along the way when it seemed too hard. It is hard, but oh so worth it. This accomplishment has encouraged me that I can do whatever I set my mind to do. I'm setting new goals and looking forward to where God leads.
